











Victorian, Silver Scottish Pebble, Jasper, Long Bar Brooch
A very striking Victorian Silver Scottish pebble brooch, c1860s
The polished banded Jasper stones are skillfully and painstakingly set within an elongated Silver frame
The polished hardstones are in super condition, shiny and bright. The characteristic markings and colours are wonderful within the banding, reds, burgandys and a beautiful blue green
The brooch is such a lovely tactile piece with its silky smooth polished stones
The brooch closes securely with a simple c clasp and pin (the pin is base metal)
Scottish agate / pebble jewellery became very popular in the mid to late 1800s. Prince Albert and Queen Victoria purchased Balmoral Castle in Scotland in 1852, Queen Victoria brought back souvenirs from her stay and of course what Queen Victoria did many others would follow and agate brooches and other Scottish agate jewellery became all the rage!
Unmarked, tested as sterling silver (the pin is base metal)
