Victorian, Aesthetic Movement Silver Back & Front Locket, With Bird Motif

A Victorian Silver, Back and Front Aesthetic movement locket c1880s

This is a beautiful antique locket with gorgeous hand engraved detailing to the front, featuring typical of the period, Japanese inspired motifs of a water scene, complete with wading stork amongst the water reeds and a stork in flight below. Bordered above by a geometric chequered design

A lovely size for everyday wear, on the original bail, ready to add to a Silver chain or ribbon

The rear of the locket is plain polished Silver, no dings or dents to the locket at all

The locket opens and closes perfectly with a good click, the inside does not have any photo inserts but a photograph can still easily be added

The locket is unmarked, has tested as solid Sterling Silver 925 back and front, some of the internal parts/ hinge are metal

Dimensions: 52mm long including bail, 30mm wide, 8mm depth

Condition: very good antique condition, no dings or dents to the locket either side. The locket has been hand cloth polished so retains its antique patina
