Edwardian 18ct Gold, Synthetic Ruby & Old Cut Diamond Half Hoop Ring, Hallmarked in 1909

A beautiful and Striking Edwardian 18ct Gold, half hoop ring, set with synthetic Rubies and old cut Diamonds, Hallmarked in 1909

The three Synthetic Rubies are such a vibrant red with of a deep pink hue, they are super striking on the finger and would have been highly prized when this ring was made in the Edwardian period. The 4 old cut Diamonds betwixt add a touch of sparkle and complement the Rubies perfectly

The hand made gallery and shoulders, in rich 18ct Gold, feature exquisitely hand carved scroll motifs, typical of this classic half hoop design

The ring has quite large proportions and is so very eye catching, with the setting spanning the width of the finger

Comfortable and fairly practical to wear, the setting sits off the finger by 3.7mm, the band has a d shaped profile

The inside of the band has a personal inscription that reads: H.N. - M.L. 7.9.15 (for 1915)

Hallmarked: Crown 18, Assayed in Birmingham 1909,

Condition: Very good antique condition, no damage to the rubies, 2 of the small old cut Diamonds have nicks but these can only be seen under magnification and are not detrimental to the ring at all, the setting and band are in excellent antique condition
